2020 NFL Draft Ongoing Discussion

2020 mock drafts have already been pouring in since the beginning of May. Obviously it’s a ridiculous notion to even try and forecast this far ahead something that’s already impossible to predict in the first place, but we still have fun doing it.

Questions abound, but the first step is to determine the draft order. A lot of sites use the current Vegas odds as a gauge. Currently Vegas Insider has the Dolphins with the lowest odds to win the 2020 Super Bowl and the Patriots the highest. But when I took the Fanspeak Mock Draft Simulator using their rankings and it plugged in the Buccaneers into the #1 overall slot. Running the simulator over a few times there was no consensus on who would go first but usually it would come up Tua, Justin Herbert or AJ Epenesa. And that lack of consensus is a predominant factor on every board. An NBC Washington reporter plugged Tua and Herbert at #1 and 2, respectively, while someone at Sports Illustrated dropped Tua to the Titans at #9 while inserting Jake Fromm 6 slots ahead of him going #3 to the Bengals. Over at Bleacher report someone has Fromm as the first overall QB drafted at #4 (Bengals). Thor at Rotoworld (using some great complementary video highlights) gives the top QB prize to Herbert at #7 (also Benglas). What’s the takeaway from all this? It’s that its still almost a full year from the next NFL Draft, so we can all relax in preparation for the 2019 College Football season.
